State Senator for Wisconsin’s 10thDistrict, Patty Schachtner got firsthand experience of reinforced concrete pipe’s strength during her August 21sttour of County Materials’ Roberts, WI pipe manufacturing plant. Senator Schachtner was invited for a plant tour at the facility located in her district to celebrate National Concrete Pipe Week.
ASTM standards for reinforced concrete pipe require factory testing to verify strength and consolidation before delivery. During the tour, Senator Schachtner participated in this rigorous testing process. This demonstration is a reminder of concrete pipe’s proven resilience, and its dependability as a storm water system material of choice for professional engineers.Unlike alternative materials, concrete pipe will not burn, corrode prematurely, or collapse under loads.
