We are proud to announce Julian Escobedo as our second quarter County Champion. Julian has been with COUNTY since 2015 as a Machine Operator in Maxwell, Indiana.
Julian earned this award by demonstrating Our Commitments through Teamwork, Accountability, Motivation, Integrity, and Leadership. Award recipients receive a $1,500 cash prize and a framed certificate signed by the owner of the County Materials Family of Companies, Tim Sonnentag.
Julian is always willing to go above and beyond in his role at COUNTY, even when the task falls outside of his official duties. In February 2024, Julian left his seat at the Epak in a heated building to work outdoors for three weeks, building storage bins. He led a team of four to complete the project with outstanding results. Julian is recognized as an exceptional leader by his peers, many of whom say that his positivity influences others.
“Whenever I’m walking around the plant and see Julian interacting with another team member, there’s always a smile on their faces,” says Wesley Richter, Julian’s supervisor. “When something isn’t working as it should, Julian takes charge to ensure the issue is resolved.”
