County Materials and Industry Partners Share Appreciation During National Concrete Pipe Week

County Materials' pipe plant in Iowa City, IA celebrated National Concrete Pipe Week by hosting a bags tournament on Friday August 23rd, 2019. The event was supported by industry vendors including Afinitas, Continental Cement, Hamilton Kent, Insteel Wire Products, Haala Industries, Trelleborg, and Iowa City’s local HD Supply. 

To show appreciation to the construction and engineering professionals who utilize concrete pipe for resilient and reliable storm water management systems, County Materials gave away Minnesota Twins tickets to winners of the bag tournament and two other randomly selected teams. 

Schrader Excavating & Grading was the bags tournament winner. They joined drawing winners The Foth Companies and Carter and Associates Inc. to watch the Minnesota Twins face off with the Detroit Tigers that Friday night hosted by County Materials. “County Materials values the partnership we have built with our vendors, local contractors and engineering professionals to promote and install concrete pipe as the industry’s preferred infrastructure option for growing communities,” said Bryan Rempt, Iowa City Location Manager.

National Concrete Pipe week was created to recognize the vital role reinforced concrete pipe plays in communities across the nation. Storm water management systems built with reinforced concrete pipe are an integral part of community infrastructure. County Materials recognized National Concrete Pipe Week by celebrating and showing industry appreciation to customers and industry partners, as well as hosting plant tours across the company’s many locations for elected officials and industry professionals.
