HOPE of East Central Illinois empowers survivors of domestic assault to live independent, non-violent lives through the provision of housing, outreach, prevention, and education. HOPE was founded by a domestic abuse survivor who saw a need and drew in community partners to establish a small shelter in a two-bedroom apartment. Since then, it has grown to offer a 24-bed shelter, 10 transitional housing units, and a 24/7 crisis hotline. HOPE of ECI serves seven rural counties in central Illinois also providing education, group and individual counseling, referrals, and children’s services such as its therapeutic summer recreation program.
Through the Sonnentag Foundation, County Materials supports dozens of charitable organizations in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member & Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
