County Materials is honored to announce that three projects featuring our masonry products were recognized in the 2025 Wisconsin Masonry Alliance (WMA) Excellence in Masonry Awards program. The annual program celebrates the outstanding use of masonry in architectural design and construction throughout Wisconsin. This year’s awards underscore County Materials’ ongoing commitment to supplying high-quality masonry products for beautiful, resilient, and enduring structures.

Best of Show & Excellence in Clay Masonry

The oLiv Madison student housing development in Madison received top honors, taking home both the Best of Show and Excellence in Clay Masonry awards. Designed by Antunovich Associates and built by Treehouse Construction, the project features masonry work by J.H. Findorff & Son, Inc. County Materials proudly supplied approximately 50,000 gray CMUs in 4”, 8”, and 12” sizes, along with 1,500 sq. ft. of Decorative Smooth Block in Blackened Ash. These units contribute to the building’s clean, modern aesthetic, tying together vertical and horizontal lines with striking visual impact.

Dennis Wilichowski Craftsmanship Award

The Veit Regional Corporate Office in New Berlin was recognized for exceptional masonry workmanship with the Dennis Wilichowski Craftsmanship Award. Designed by Zimmerman Architectural Studios and constructed by VJS Construction, the project showcases masonry completed by KMI. County Materials manufactured and supplied over 2,600 sq. ft. of 4/2 Fluted Block in Charcoal and more than 8,400 sq. ft. of Smooth Decorative Block in Steel Gray, including specialty half-high units. These textures and tones highlight both aesthetic precision and installation craftsmanship.

Excellence in Residential Masonry

The Modern European Residence in Elm Grove was awarded Excellence in Residential Masonry, honoring the thoughtful integration of masonry into a high-end residential design. Built by Venture Construction Group and designed by Deep River Partners, with masonry completed by Dale Anderson Masonry, the home incorporates County Materials’ architectural units alongside natural stone. The result is a residence that balances elegance and durability in a refined European-inspired design.

These awards reflect the strength of collaboration across the design and construction community, and County Materials is honored to have played a role in each of these award-winning projects. We congratulate all project partners on their achievements and thank the Wisconsin Masonry Alliance for recognizing excellence in masonry design and craftsmanship.
