County Materials Partners with the Education Foundation of Lake County to Empower Local Youth

Written by Admin | Dec 18, 2024

County Materials partners with the Education Foundation of Lake County to connect the community to classrooms to innovate learning, power potential, and celebrate success in Florida’s Lake and Sumter counties. The organization supports student scholarships, mentors, teacher classroom grants, school supply distributions, Take Stock in Children, and several teacher and volunteer recognition initiatives. The Education Foundation of Lake County raises $375,000 and impacts the lives of more than 15,500 students each year.

Take Stock in Children is a scholarship and mentoring program hosted by the Education Foundation dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty for low-income, academically qualified students. Students join the program during their sophomore year of high school and are paired with volunteer mentors. Upon graduation, they receive scholarships to attend any public college, university, or trade school in Florida. The program inspires students and their families to pursue their dreams of higher education.

Through the Sonnentag American Foundation, County Materials supports dozens of charitable organizations like the Education Foundation. We provide support in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member & Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
