County Materials is committed to inspiring and educating the next generation of industry professionals. As a part of this initiative, Seth Wier, Project Coordinator, was recently invited to speak at his alma mater, UW-River Falls. Seth presented to the Engineering Technology Seminar Class, where 18 students were in attendance. During his presentation, Seth discussed the products and services County Materials offers, while also focusing on career opportunities in project management, quality control, and sales within the concrete manufacturing industry.
The students were engaged and appreciated the real-world insights. One student commented, "I loved listening to him and gaining a true understanding of the concrete construction and engineering fields through his personal experiences and current role."
Professor Bob Zhiwei Zeng expressed his appreciation for Seth's emphasis on the importance of internships, relevant coursework, and professional development.
County Materials supports students in exploring career opportunities through plant tours, job fairs, and classroom presentations that promote hands-on skill development. These initiatives allow students to learn about rewarding careers in manufacturing and construction, which offer growth potential and competitive pay.
Together, we're building a company that hardworking people are proud to work for, live near, and do business with since 1946.
