Salvation Army Grace Place provides shelter and support services for homeless families and individuals throughout Wisconsin’s St. Croix River Valley, including St. Croix, Pierce, and Polk Counties. Operating 24 hours a day, the shelter welcomes new residents and assesses their situation to deliver essential care and service.
Each resident is paired with a case manager who works alongside them to establish goals such as securing employment, attending health appointments, applying for resources, and finding safe, long-term housing. The shelter offers classes in budgeting, wellness, and resume writing, as well as tutoring and family activities for adults and children.
Grace Place also provides emergency services, including housing, transportation, and assistance with rent and utilities. Each year, nearly 400 people are housed at Grace Place. It’s not just a shelter; it’s a transformative program that significantly impacts and improves lives.
Through the Sonnentag American Foundation, County Materials supports numerous charitable organizations across four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member & Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
