Career and technical education (CTE), is education that focuses on preparing students for high-wage, high-demand careers such as those available in the concrete manufacturing industry. February is recognized as CTE Month, which celebrates the achievements of education and other initiatives schools and businesses accomplish each year.
County Materials is proud to celebrate the company’s support of career and technical education. Throughout the year, County Materials hosts plant tours for young students who are just beginning to think about their future career, to college students who are seeking experience in their field. County Materials also makes regular donations to industry organizations and classrooms for students to get hands on experience with the materials and tools used in the skilled trades.
Continuing education for the next generation of leaders and industry specialists is supported by County Materials through a scholarship program to assist children of our team members.
Additionally, County Materials supports our team members with professional growth and development through training and education opportunities that focus on technical and leadership skills.
County Materials also makes an impact on CTE by engaging in the public dialogue surrounding worthwhile careers and opportunities in manufacturing and construction. The company hosts frequent plant tours for elected officials, industry professionals and government employees, and our engineers and representatives participate in discussions and seminars that educate individuals on the contributions that concrete manufacturing and concrete products make in local communities.
Keep an eye out throughout the month of February and the rest of the year as County Materials highlights the company’s efforts to promote CTE.
