Custom Canines | Sun Prairie, WI

Custom Canines is a non-profit organization powered by wonderful volunteers who are dedicated to raising, training, and giving service dogs to individuals with disabilities, free of charge. In so doing, they enable people to live fuller lives of courage and passion with their canine partners at their side.

Custom Canines receives funding from County Materials’ annual charity golf outing. To demonstrate the company’s Vision of Success, Stability and Support, County Materials is contributing to military personnel and veteran support services in communities where the company has locations.

Custom Canines works with all types of disabilities from children with autism, people who use a wheelchair, people who are visually impaired, to military veterans needing help with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Service animal means any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including, but not limited to, guiding individuals with impaired vision, alerting individuals with impaired hearing to intruders or sounds, providing minimal protection or rescue work, pulling a wheelchair, or fetching dropped items.

Our Giving in Action

Mary was a medic and truck driver in the U.S. Army for four years and worked at Joint Force Headquarters in Madison, WI. Mary suffers from balance issues and severe back pain problems. Her partnership with Titan was funded by the Sonnentag Foundation.

The partnership between Wisconsin National Guard veteran, Mary, and her service dog, Titan, has been a wonderful companionship.

She and Titan were certified as a working team just this summer. She is now retired and is enjoying her new-found freedom and independence that Titan gives her.
