GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau is a welcoming community space dedicated to individuals of all ages with Down syndrome. It offers a safe, supportive environment where participants can explore their abilities through engaging activities and programs. Whether enjoying programs at their own pace or connecting with peers in an inclusive setting, individuals build confidence while developing new skills. With features like a therapeutic play area, tutoring labs, a sensory room, and a gym, GiGi’s Playhouse provides a wide range of enriching, hands-on experiences.
County Materials partners with GiGi’s Playhouse to support the Down syndrome community through impactful programs. One standout initiative is Playhouse Pals, which fosters the development of social and language skills through engaging, peer-based activities. In addition to encouraging meaningful interaction, the program also promotes gross and fine motor skills through fun, movement-based games.
Through the Sonnentag American Foundation, County Materials supports worthy organizations like GiGi’s Playhouse. We provide support in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member & Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
