Operation Fresh Start students give back to the community by building accessible housing for deserving families and completing conservation work in local parks. While building their community, students earn their high school diploma, driver’s license, construction and conservancy certifications, and gain college and career readiness skills.
County Materials partners with Operation Fresh Start as they serve young adults, ages 16 to 24, focusing on populations facing the most significant barriers. Last year, 76 percent of participants were young adults of color, and 80 percent were from low-income households. After graduation, Project Fresh Start staff support graduates as they transition into secondary education or self-sustaining employment.
County Materials partners with nonprofit organizations through the Sonnentag American Foundation. The Foundation aligns support with four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Members & Veterans Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
