Spending time in nature hunting, observing, and photographing wildlife can instill a feeling of accomplishment in anyone. At Little Lakes Memories, people with disabilities get an opportunity to explore the outdoors without limitations, along with their families. County Materials supports Little Lakes in their mission to provide lifetime memories for as many families as possible.
The nonprofit organization coordinates accessible hunting and outdoor adventures for 10 families annually, at no cost to participants. Each weekend retreat provides relief for families. Caretakers can join in the fun or enjoy a reprieve from their usual role, and guests with disabilities can participate in activities they may have thought impossible due to their physical limitations.
County Materials partners with Little Lakes Memories and other local nonprofits through the Sonnentag American Foundation. We target support to four key service areas, including Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member & Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
