Notre Dame Hydroelectric

Written by Admin | Mar 8, 2021

In recent years, the University of Notre Dame has made significant efforts to become more sustainable. One of the university’s latest initiatives is to use renewable energy sources to power at least 10 percent of the campus. Notre Dame and the City of South Bend planned to meet this goal by constructing a hydroelectric facility across the St. Joseph River. Precast box culverts were specified to meet the demands of the location’s active river setting. County Materials manufactured and delivered nearly 140 16’x14’ box culvert sections for this noteworthy project.
