Operation Fresh Start Students Tour County Materials’ Madison Pipe Plant

Operation Fresh Start students give back to the community by building affordable homes for deserving families and completing conservation work in local parks. While doing that, they earn their high school diploma, driver’s license, construction and conservancy certifications, and gain college and career readiness skills. One program that Operation Fresh Start offers is their Build Academy. The program offers full-time, hands-on, paid training in construction for high school graduates. Participants have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals and gain firsthand experience while building their resume.

On April 26, participants in the Build Academy program toured County Materials’ Madison pipe plant. The group enjoyed learning how reinforced concrete pipe is made and the important role it plays in maintaining strong communities. They also discussed potential career paths and the benefits of working in manufacturing and construction.

County Materials’ facility tours underscore the indisputable contributions that concrete producers, their team members, and construction professionals make to the American economy and local communities.

Together, we're building a company that hardworking people are proud to work for, live near, and do business with since 1946.
