County Materials partnered with the Greater Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity to provide the Vang family the experience of owning a home. One of the many homes constructed by Habitat for Humanity is the Youth Build. The involvement of the Appleton Area High School construction classes helped make it possible. The goal of the project is to empower youth to make a difference in their community and provide hands-on educational support and mentoring for youth in the construction trades. While the students learned construction skills and saw the results of their efforts each day onsite, they were doing something more. They were making a safe and affordable home possible for a family in their community. The Vang family is very excited and happy to have their dream house. They shared, "All we have wanted was enough room for our family, and a healthy place to raise our kids.”
Through the Sonnentag Foundation, County Materials supports dozens of charitable organizations in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member & Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
