County Materials partners with SoldierStrong to help veterans take the next steps forward in their post-military life. SoldierStrong began its journey of helping members of the armed services in 2009 with a simple sock drive, which led to delivering more than 75,000 pounds of essentials to troops abroad. Since then, the organization has pivoted its mission to serve American veterans worldwide.
SoldierStrong provides revolutionary technology, innovative advancements, and educational opportunities to help veterans better their lives and the lives of their families. The organization’s programs address both the physical and mental effects of being in the service. One of their programs, SoldierSuit, makes prosthetic and robotic exoskeleton devices for veterans in rehabilitation for various combat and non-combatrelated disabilities.
County Materials, through the Sonnentag American Foundation, targets support to worthy organizations like SoldierStrong. We partner with organizations that support individuals in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Members & Veterans Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
