County Materials’ Premier Ultra Burnished Masonry Units were used to update Ashley Field for their distinct appearance and structural benefits. Each unit undergoes a grinding process to expose the natural aggregates on the units’ smooth surface, emulating the appearance of hand-cut stone, with the structural and cost benefits of concrete masonry.
Project leaders preferred the sophistication of Premier Ultra units and decided to increase the quantity used from their original design. County Materials accommodated this change in quantity while keeping the project on schedule. More than 22,000 SF of Premier Ultra Burnished Masonry Units were used to construct the grand stadium, support columns, and fence posts.
