County Materials donates supplies, tools, and funds to enhance local technical education programs and offer greater hands-on learning opportunities for students. One organization we are proud to support every year is SkillsUSA, a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives, working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.
This year, County Materials sponsored the organization’s State Leadership & Skills Conference, held April 9th-10th in Madison, Wisconsin. The conference brought industry leaders and students together to provide hands-on learning about the many technical career opportunities available, and challenged students with a wide array of competitions, including masonry, woodworking, welding, and more.
The winners of the statewide competitions moved onto the national SkillsUSA Championships. This year, 27 college or post-secondary students and about 170 high school students are representing Wisconsin at the national conference in Atlanta.
County Materials is proud to partner with organizations like SkillsUSA to teach students about the many benefits of careers in the manufacturing and construction industries.
