Concrete Pipe Week: Minnesota Engineering Firm Tours County Materials’ Roberts Pipe Facility

Aug 20, 2019

In recognition of National Concrete Pipe Week, four engineers and staff members from Anderson-Johnson Associations, Inc. (AJA) of Golden Valley, MN along with the Minnesota Concrete Pipe Association Technical Resource Director, Jason Kruger toured County Materials’ Roberts, WI pipe manufacturing facility on August 19, 2019. AJA is a large-scale civil engineering firm who manages projects from municipal parks, athletic facilities and school campuses.

AJA makes a commitment to socially responsible engineering, taking into account the environmental, social, economic, and community impact of all of their projects. Learning about the long-lasting impacts concrete pipe has on building sustainable communities was the emphasis of this tour.

“Concrete Pipe Week is a great opportunity for us to show our partners, industry members and elected officials how reinforced concrete pipe is produced locally in their communities and to educate them on how pipe is a proven solution for long-lasting storm water management systems,” says Carlos Villarreal, Location Manager at County Materials’ Roberts facility.

Concrete Pipe Week was created to recognize the vital role reinforced concrete pipe plays in communities across the nation. During Concrete Pipe Week, pipe producers host plant tours and engage federal, state and local elected officials in discussions about product quality, performance and resilience as they relate to storm water infrastructure. Facility tours underscore the indisputable contributions that concrete pipe producers, their team members and their customers make to the American economy, environment and local communities.
