Concrete box culverts and aprons manufactured by County Materials are ideal for applications where circular and elliptical concrete pipe cannot provide adequate flow capacity. These precast concrete components also work well in place of short-span bridges and multi-barrel culverts and drains. Various end treatments are available in select markets.

Available in 3’ x 2’ to 12’ x 12’ spans - longer spans up to 20’ available in select markets

County Materials’ Precast Concrete Box Sections meet the following specifications:

  • AASHTO M259 – Precast reinforced concrete box section for culverts, storm drains, and sewers
  • AASHTO M273 – Precast reinforced concrete box section for culverts, storm drains, and sewers with less than 2 feet of cover, subjected to highway loadings
  • ASTM C-1433 (HS-20) – Precast reinforced concrete box sections for culverts, storm drains, and sewers with 0 up to 35’ cover of cover, selected sizes have reduced cover heights, subjected to highway loadings.
  • ASTM C-1577(LFRD) – Precast reinforced concrete box sections for culverts, storm drains, and sewers with 0 up to 30’ cover of cover, selected sizes have reduced cover heights, subjected to highway loadings.
