Pipe Week by inviting Wisconsin State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to the company’s Madison, WI pipe manufacturing facility for a tour on the morning of August 21st. The tour was one of the many events County Materials hosted at its locations across the country during National Concrete Pipe Week.

During the tour, County Materials provided an overview of the importance of concrete pipe and precast structures in building long-lasting and durable infrastructure—demonstrating that there is no substitute for reinforced concrete pipe when it comes to investments in infrastructure.

Concrete pipe has a long track record as an inherently strong material for storm water management. Unlike, plastic pipe, precast concrete pipe is rigid, provides structural stability, and is tested to meet industry standards. County Materials and the concrete pipe industry strongly advocates to local, state and national officials about the importance of concrete pipe in building reliable storm water systems in American communities. County Materials supports this effort by hosting frequent educational tours for engineering professionals, public leaders, and students.

“It was great to see this successful, family-owned business,” said Speaker Vos. County Materials is an American based and family-owned company that began in 1946. County Materials employs more than 1,500 people throughout American communities, another important factor recognized during National Concrete Pipe week.

National Concrete Pipe week was created to recognize the vital role reinforced concrete pipe plays in communities across the nation. Storm water management systems built with reinforced concrete pipe are an integral part of community infrastructure. County Materials supported National Concrete Pipe week by sharing industry appreciation with customers and industry partners, as well as hosting plant tours across the company’s many locations for elected officials and industry professionals.
