Corporate Golf Event Raises Record Breaking Total for Charity

Aug 25, 2015

Marathon, WI – Since 2007, County Materials Corporation, has hosted an annual Golf Outing to raise funds for local charities that are supported by its philanthropic arm, the Sonnentag Foundation. Every year, the amount raised has exceeded that of the year before; this year did not disappoint. County Materials’ 2015 Annual Charity Golf Outing, which took place Sept. 3, 2015 at the Wausau Country Club, raised $140,000 – over $35,000 more than last year’s event.

100% of the funds raised from the event will go directly to charities funded by the Sonnentag Foundation. These nonprofit organizations and programs are making a difference for children and families in communities where County Materials has facilities. As a result of the generous contributions of event participants and supporters, the Sonnentag Foundation has donated more than $465,650 to worthwhile community programs and charitable organizations over the past nine years. Last year’s recipients include 12 Wisconsin and Illinois chapters of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Easter Seals Wisconsin’s Respite and Recreation Camps in Wisconsin Dells, the Women’s Community in Wausau, WI and Lake Cares Food Pantry in Mount Dora, FL.

Rebecca Sonnentag, County Materials’ Communications and Promotions Manager, is especially grateful to the Golf Outing’s corporate sponsors for helping make this year’s event a success.  “We are very proud to partner with generous corporate partners in our industry who want to make a positive and lasting impact,” she says. “They have been so enthusiastic and are really vital to the success of the event. It’s amazing to see so many different companies coming together to improve the lives of children, families and disadvantaged people in our local communities.” Over 50 sponsors supported the event, including major event sponsor U.S. Venture, and supporing event sponsors Grace Construction Products, Hawkeye Pedershaab, Insteel, LaFarge, Rock Road Companies, Inc., Truck Country, and Von Briesen & Roper.
