County Materials Helps Camp Hope Support Veterans’ Healing
Camp Hope, a retreat for military veterans wounded in the War on Terror, is dedicated to helping veterans heal through experiences in nature. Founded by the family of Christopher White, who was killed while serving in Iraq, Camp Hope gives veterans of all abilities the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, and hiking — at no cost. With ADA-compliant cabins and an attentive all-volunteer staff, Camp Hope can accommodate veterans with almost any disability.
Camp Hope is located in rural Missouri and offers many acres of beautiful rolling hills and hardwood forests where veterans can escape from daily life and find new ways to enjoy outdoor adventures with dignity.
County Materials, through the Sonnentag Foundation, supports dozens of worthy organizations and causes in four service areas, including Hunger and Homelessness Support, Service Member and Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring and Skills Building.
