County Materials Hosts Civil Engineers at Green Bay Concrete Pipe Facility
County Materials recently hosted a plant tour for the Fox River Valley Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Twenty engineers from both consulting firms and municipalities toured our Century Road pipe plant in Green Bay, WI. The tour focused on the production of precast concrete manholes and other storm water management structures like inlets and catch basins.
During the tour, the engineers observed quality testing processes and learned the important role precast concrete products play in managing storm water and in ensuring community safety. Additionally, they learned the difference between dry mix and wet mix concrete, their different applications, and how concrete forms and reinforcements are set.
Civil engineers design and supervise the installation of infrastructure projects and systems that build American communities. This tour was an opportunity for them to see up close the manufacturing of some crucial products as well as recognize the value concrete provides to the building of long-lasting, sustainable infrastructure. County Materials’ facility tours underscore the indisputable contributions that concrete producers, their team members, and construction professionals make to the American economy and local communities.
Together, we're building a company that hardworking people are proud to work for, live near, and do business with since 1946.
