County Materials Reinforces Safety and Readiness with Spring Safety Stand Down Base Camps
Roberts, WI – County Materials recently reinforced our long-standing commitment to safety, quality, and production excellence with a series of “base camp” meetings across nine pipe production facilities. These meetings aligned teams ahead of the busy construction season and reflected the company’s proactive approach to team development and workplace safety.
Throughout the spring, base camps were hosted at the following locations: Milwaukee, Green Bay, Rib Falls, Roberts, Maxwell, Holmen, Springfield, and St. Louis. The gatherings focused on three key areas: safety, production, and quality, with a strong emphasis on ensuring that safety—one of our core values—is reflected in daily work practices.
Several base camps featured vendor-led sessions on rigging and forklift safety, while others utilized internal leadership to guide conversations. At each location, team members could collaborate, ask questions, and review procedures that directly impact their daily work environments.
At the Roberts facility, the base camp served as the site’s annual GUARD for Life Safety Stand‑Down, bringing team members together to discuss hazard awareness, personal protective equipment, and maintaining clean, organized workspaces. Similarly, the Rib Falls facility hosted its first Stand‑Down event, where team members participated in safety presentations and discussions.
County Materials also joined the national effort during OSHA’s Safety Stand‑Down Week (May 5-9. 2025), with site-wide discussions centered on fall prevention—a leading cause of workplace injuries. These events reinforced the importance of clear walkways, proper footwear, and communication when working at heights or in high-risk areas.
These base camps and safety initiatives reflect County Materials’ ongoing investment in our people and operations. By setting aside dedicated time for team conversations, education, and safety reinforcement, our company is helping ensure a safe, successful start to the season across all production facilities.
