Since 1970, Operation Fresh Start has helped over 9,000 emerging adults find their path to self-sufficiency through education, mentoring, and employment training. The organization offers impactful programs to guide people through their transition to adulthood, helping them earn diplomas and driver’s licences, and gain college and career readiness skills. Participants give back to the community by helping build affordable homes for low-income families and taking part in conservation and land restoration projects.
County Materials partners with Operation Fresh Start to provide life-changing opportunities for emerging adults. One program offered is Legacy, a personal growth and development initiative for individuals between the ages of 16 and 24. Legacy helps participants take real-world steps toward their desired career, helping them gain the skills, habits, experiences, and connections to find success long after they earn a diploma. Students learn through paid, hands-on employment training on an actual job site, and through one-on-one and small-group academic work in a classroom.
Through the Sonnentag American Foundation, County Materials partners with worthy organizations like Operation Fresh Start. We partner with organizations that support individuals in four key service areas: Hunger and Homelessness Support, Veteran and Service Member Support, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring and Skills Building.
