County Materials Hosts Iowa City Facility Tour for Veenstra & Kimm Engineers
County Materials recently hosted a group of civil engineers from Veenstra & Kimm at our Iowa City pipe facility. Veenstra & Kimm is an Iowa-based engineering consulting company that believes infrastructure is “about more than buildings, bridges, and roadways. It’s about the people who depend on them.” The company has been improving communities with engineering solutions for over 60 years, and County Materials appreciated the opportunity to connect through this plant tour.
During the tour, engineers learned how American-made steel is combined with cement and locally sourced aggregates and admixtures to form durable reinforced concrete pipe. Civil engineers across the country specify concrete pipe, but many have never had the opportunity to see how it is made in their community. County Materials is proud to offer opportunities like these to educate industry leaders about the value concrete provides.
County Materials’ facility tours underscore the indisputable contributions that concrete producers, their team members, and construction professionals make to the American economy and local communities.
Together, we're building a company that hardworking people are proud to work for, live near, and do business with since 1946.
