Landscape Product Donation Builds Wausau Community Garden
The Bridge Community Health Clinic is a Wausau, Wisconsin, clinic that provides comprehensive medical care to the underserved, underinsured, self-pay, and refugee populations of Marathon County. The organization removes barriers to care and connects patients and partners to resources, pursuing their vision of a healthier community.
Since 2013, the Bridge Community Health Clinic has operated a community garden program to serve individuals with reduced access to fresh foods and those who face food insecurity. To replace older, less accessible, and scattered-location gardens, the clinic constructed a new garden that is ADA-accessible and capable of supporting more than 60 gardeners.
County Materials donated concrete landscape products to help construct the new garden. Our Tribute Smooth retaining wall units were used to construct several elevated plant beds. These planters will support the work of the Bridge Community Health Clinic and meet the needs of Wausau individuals and families for generations.
County Materials made this product donation through the Sonnentag American Foundation. The Foundation aligns support with four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Members & Veterans Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
