OccuPaws Guide Dog Association Helps Wisconsin Residents with Visual Impairments Lead Empowered Lives
County Materials partners with OccuPaws Guide Dog Association to provide life-changing services for
Wisconsin residents with visual impairments. OccuPaws is a nonprofit based out of Madison, WI and is
accredited by both the International Guide Dog Federation and Assistance Dogs International. The
organization pairs fully trained guide dogs of excellent health with individuals at no charge.
The client and their dog train together in the comfort of the client’s home and familiar surroundings. This
inclusive approach ensures all individuals, regardless of personal circumstances or secondary health
conditions, can enjoy the companionship and assistance of a guide dog. Pairs have similar lifestyles,
personality types, and activity levels. After personalized in-home training, clients feel confident in their
ability to work with their guide dog to lead an empowered life.
Through the Sonnentag American Foundation, County Materials supports dozens of charitable
organizations like OccuPaws in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member
& Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
