Partnering with Community Action to Prevent Poverty and Provide Access to Resources
Community Action, Inc. strives to prevent and reduce poverty in Rock and Walworth Counties. The organization provides access and opportunity through innovative programs that eliminate barriers and establish clear pathways to economic self-reliance, such as childcare, youth programs, emergency food and rental assistance, and skills training and job placement services.
Community Action helps students succeed in the Beloit Fresh Start YouthBuild AmeriCorps program, an education and job-training program for underserved youth. Youth complete their high school education or GED in an intensive individualized educational program while also developing employment skills through hands-on construction projects and life skills classes. Through community service and leadership opportunities, participants learn how to help themselves and find purpose in helping others in the community.
County Materials is proud to partner with dozens of worthy organizations and causes like Community Action. Through the Sonnentag American Foundation, we support organizations in four service areas, including Hunger and Homelessness Support, Service Member and Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring and Skills Building.
