Partnering with HOPE to Empower Survivors in East Central Illinois
County Materials partners with HOPE of East Central Illinois to empower survivors of domestic assault to live independent, non-violent lives through the provision of housing, outreach, prevention, and education. HOPE was founded by a domestic abuse survivor who saw a need and drew community partners to establish a small shelter in a two-bedroom apartment. Since then, it has grown to offer a 24-bed shelter, five transitional housing units, and a 24/7 crisis hotline.
HOPE of ECI strives to eliminate barriers victims face by using a flexible approach to meeting clients’ needs. They serve seven rural counties in Central Illinois, providing education, group and individual counseling, referrals, and children’s services, such as its therapeutic summer recreation program.
County Materials, through the Sonnentag American Foundation, targets support to worthy organizations like HOPE. We partner with organizations that support individuals in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Members & Veterans Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
