Storm Water Engineers Gain Valuable Knowledge During Tour at County Materials’ Pipe Manufacturing Facility
On October 25, 2019, eighteen engineers and local officials visited County Materials' concrete pipe facility in Rib Falls, WI, and toured the White-Water Park in downtown Wausau, WI, which County Materials supplied with ready-mix. The visits were part of the 2019 Wisconsin Association for Floodplain, Stormwater, & Coastal Management's (WAFSCM) field tour.
County Materials provided the group with a tour of the Rib Falls facility, demonstrating how reinforcement enhances concrete pipe’s resilience, and how the company uses zero slump and vibrating production methods to produce quality precast products.
Next, the group visited the White-Water Park, where they observed strategic rock placement and new concrete sidewalk, learned more about the rafting events the facility hosts, and how the site manages the waterway.
In 2000, engineers from across Wisconsin formed the WAFSCM, and the association now has over 200 members. The organization's mission includes promoting public awareness of proper floodplain and stormwater management, boost the professional status of individuals involved in water management, and work with local and state elected leaders and government agencies in benefiting the state's waterways.
County Materials is an active participant in promoting industry education. Our company manufactures reinforced concrete pipe and precast structures which contribute to long-lasting water management infrastructure and keeping the state's waterways clean.
