Supporting Wounded Veterans with Camp Hope
County Materials partners with Camp Hope, a wounded veteran retreat in the rural heartland of America. The camp was established by William “Mike” White and his wife, Galia, to memorialize their son, Christopher, who sacrificed his life defending our country in Iraq. Mike and Galia honor the fallen by helping the wounded. The retreat offers beautiful natural surroundings, various activities, and camaraderie with other veterans. Located in the rolling hills of Missouri, the landscape is ideal for hiking, four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, and exploring. Services are tailored to veterans of all abilities, and the facilities are ADA-approved and handicapped-accessible.
Donations and volunteers make it possible for every guest to enjoy their time at Camp Hope without charges, and every dollar directly benefits war-wounded veterans. Since its opening in 2007, Camp Hope has hosted hundreds of veterans at their facility for camaraderie, recreation, and healing.
County Materials, through the Sonnentag American Foundation, targets support to worthy organizations like Camp Hope. We partner with organizations that support individuals in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Members & Veterans Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
