Transforming Emerging Adults by Building Communities
Operation Fresh Start was founded in 1970 by police officer and juvenile detention counselor, Jack Osteraas, to provide struggling young people with a paid opportunity that would help them gain work experience, obtain a high school diploma, and secure permanent employment.
County Materials supports Operation Fresh Start to assist them in their mission. Operation Fresh Start offers young people opportunities to contribute to their community by building safe, accessible housing. The organization believes emerging adults are assets in their community and strives to empower them on a path to self-sufficiency.
We support local organizations and causes through the Sonnentag American Foundation, emphasizing four key service areas: Hunger and Homelessness Support, Veteran and Service Member Support, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring and Skills Building.
