Leo is a Plant Team Lead at our pipe manufacturing facility in Maxwell, Indiana, and has been with County Materials for nearly ten years. He earned this award for his outstanding display of Our Commitments to Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, Motivation, and Leadership. Award recipients receive a $1,000 cash prize and a framed certificate signed by COUNTY Owner Tim Sonnentag. They can also choose to celebrate this accomplishment with their family and peers at an on-site social hosted in their honor.
Known for his positive attitude and natural leadership, Leo has made many valuable contributions to our company’s success. His team and supervisors appreciate his help with everything from loading aggregate and driving trucks to providing translations and training.
His supervisor, Wesley Richter, said, “Leo is not the type of person who sits back and waits; if he can jump in and help a situation, that is exactly what he does. He stays late to help other areas finish their day if they are running behind without being asked to do so.”
Wesley continued, “Leo is always willing to do whatever it takes to get things done right. His team is also willing to do their jobs well because they see Leo’s example. Anytime I go to Leo with a task or a challenge, I always get a smile and a response of ‘Oh yeah, man, no problemo.’
Leo is respected by his peers as well as by his supervisors. I know for a fact that County Materials’ Maxwell location would not be the same without Leo’s leadership.”
