Phil Young is a Mechanical Technician with County Materials and has reached 20 years of service with our company. During his tenure, Phil has gained experience working with every kind of vehicle and equipment in our fleet, including trucks, trailers, fork lifts, bulldozers, and wheel loaders.
“Every day is something new; it never gets stale,” Phil says. “What makes my job rewarding is seeing the end product of our labors. When a truck comes in and then you get this thing done, there’s no leaks, it runs perfect, and the next day it’s on the road delivering our product, it’s very fulfilling.”
Phil shared that County Materials has supported his personal and professional development throughout his career by providing competitive wages and opportunities to increase his wage by advancing his skills and taking on new duties. “I put four kids through college working at COUNTY. I’m very proud of that,” he says.
Working for a company that is committed to giving back to the communities where we have locations through the Sonnentag American Foundation is important to Phil, who appreciates why the company donates products to community projects. As a youth sports coach for 30 years, Phil says he was excited to see County Materials support the construction of a new athletic facility in his community.
“In my town, County Materials provided all the block for an athletic facility. To see a COUNTY sign on the facility we were playing at — it gives me a lot of pride to say I had a part in that,” Phil says.
Phil’s career is a testament to the success, stability, and support of our organization.
