For over 150 years, Lad Lake has met its community’s most urgent needs, acting as an emergency room for the child welfare system. Youth served at Lad Lake facilities often suffer from neglect, abuse, addiction, or have surpassed the age limit of foster care. The organization provides opportunities and programs to help youth succeed, giving them a second chance at life.
County Materials helps Lad Lake support over 1,100 youth and families each year. One program offered is Shelter Care, which provides emergency residence for youth who are unsafe in their homes. Beyond safe housing, the shelter connects children with positive role models, teaches life and coping skills, and provides a sense of normalcy during a traumatic event.
Through the Sonnentag American Foundation, County Materials supports worthy organizations like Lad Lake. We provide support in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member & Veterans Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
