Lightweight ready-mix concrete is made with porous aggregates, such as shale, clay, or slate. These aggregates lower the overall density of the mix, improving its thermal properties and maximizing cost savings for foundations, reinforcement, and formwork. Lightweight concrete is ideal for lowering final project density while still maintaining strength, durability, and structural integrity. Because of its economical advantages, it is often preferred for engineering applications.
