Solution: Reinforced concrete pipe and precast structures provided long-lasting, cost-effective sanitary and stormwater infrastructure for an active adult community.
Concrete Pipe and Precast Structures Chosen for Longevity and Efficiency
Adelwood by Del Webb, an active adult community in Chaska, Minnesota, features 260 homes, walking trails, and recreational amenities. To maintain a tight construction schedule, contractor Enebak Construction Company relied on County Materials to supply reinforced concrete pipe and precast structures with fast, reliable lead times.
County Materials leveraged its Roberts, Wisconsin, and Iowa City, Iowa, facilities to manufacture more than 9,900 LF of reinforced concrete pipe, 30 sanitary manholes, 77 storm manholes, 33 precast end walls, and six precast outlet control structures with unmatched efficiency. The two facilities coordinated seamlessly, producing sanitary manholes in Iowa that were transported to Wisconsin for coating, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Reinforced concrete pipe offers durability and long-term performance, strengthening over time, resisting flotation, and minimizing maintenance throughout a service life that can exceed 100 years. Installation also provides initial cost savings by requiring less bedding and compaction than alternative materials, making it a reliable, cost-effective solution for developers and contractors.
County Materials’ readily available inventory and efficient production capabilities allowed the Adelwood project to maintain schedule momentum while delivering high-quality infrastructure for the community.
Project Highlights:
This project demonstrates how County Materials’ reinforced concrete pipe and precast structures can meet tight schedules while providing long-lasting, low-maintenance infrastructure. Efficient manufacturing, coordinated facilities, and reliable products helped keep construction on track.
