Solution: A pool deck made from a restrained palette of concrete landscape products enhances this gently sloping backyard.
The homeowners of this compact suburban yard in a Chicago suburb added value and outdoor living space to their home with the addition of a swimming pool with a concrete paver pool deck and a water feature. To bring their vision to life, the homeowners selected a monochromatic palette of concrete landscape products manufactured by County Materials.
The pool deck features Grand XL DISCOVER PAVERS® in Vision installed in a herringbone pattern for added visual interest. 8x16 ELEMENTS™ PAVERS in Reflection line the outer border of the pool deck, mirroring a narrower border around the pool made from 4x8 ELEMENTS™ PAVERS in Reflection. PRESTIGE™ COPING PAVERS in Sea Salt give the pool a refined finish and a comfortable rounded edge for entering and exiting the water.
To add to the ambiance of the pool, the design includes a water feature made from Smooth SUMMIT STONE® LANDSCAPE UNITS in Vision and Reflection. The water gently streaming out of the three waterfall features creates a soothing sound and mesmerizing view from the lounge chairs.
In order to install the pool, the homeowners needed to level the lower portion of their gently sloped backyard. A small retaining wall made with Smooth TRIBUTE® WALL SYSTEMS provided a reliable solution that coordinated perfectly with the pool deck’s aesthetics. Double Sided Smooth Rectangle Caps in Vision form a short staircase from the higher level of the yard down to the pool deck to finish the design.
