New Construction Poolhouse Showcases Concrete Masonry
For more than 60 years, families have made summer memories and learned lifelong skills at the Ridgewood Pool, the oldest outdoor community pool in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2023, following a seven-year fundraising effort, the community replaced the original poolhouse with a brand-new facility designed to serve the next generation.
The new building includes concessions, bathrooms, and office space. Its façade features 1,500 SF of Premier Ultra® Burnished Masonry Units in Dawn, installed in an engaging pattern with horizontal score accents that break up the wall and create visual interest. The warm beige tone of the polished units complements the building’s other exterior elements, while the textural contrast adds depth and dimension. Behind the scenes, the structure is built entirely with concrete masonry units—both painted and burnished—chosen for their durability and ease of maintenance.
Premier Ultra Burnished units are manufactured in structural load-bearing, full, and thin veneer options, making them a versatile solution for designers and contractors.
Project Highlights:
Engineered to withstand the elements and stand the test of time, concrete masonry units are a proven choice for long-term value. The new Ridgewood Poolhouse delivers lasting beauty and performance for a beloved community destination.
