Community Resolves Flooding with Reinforced Concrete Pipe Storm Water System

May 24, 2021

After several years of planning, a stretch of U.S. Highway 10 in Manitowoc, WI, known as Waldo Boulevard, underwent extensive reconstruction that prompted storm water infrastructure updates. The existing reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) system, installed nearly 100 years prior, remained in serviceable condition but proved undersized and unable to accommodate excess runoff. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation enhanced the system’s flow capacity by upgrading to larger round and elliptical RCP manufactured by County Materials.
