County Materials Earns Honors in the 2019 WMA Excellence in Masonry Awards

Three projects supplied by County Materials received honors at the Annual Wisconsin Masonry Alliance Excellence in Masonry Awards held at the 2019 AIA Wisconsin Convention. 

The Wisconsin Masonry Alliance recognized the following distinguished masonry projects:

Best of Concrete Masonry—Deforest Village Hall + Public Safety Building:

Corner Stone Construction of Janesville, WI was awarded for their work on the Deforest Village Hall and Public Safety Building, in Deforest, WI. This project utilized Premier Ultra® Burnished Masonry Units in Dawn and Splitface Masonry Units in Desert Edge, both manufactured by County Materials. The project was called “Handsome” by the Architects on the judging panel for the Excellence in Masonry event. 

Merit in Concrete Masonry—Oak Creek Fire Station:

Corporate Contractors, Inc. of Beloit, WI were acknowledged with a Merit in Concrete Masonry for their excellent application in masonry construction on the Oak Creek Fire Station, in Oak Creek, WI. County Materials supplied this project with Heritage Collection™ Designer Concrete Brick. 

Best of Clay Masonry—Fernwood Montessori Addition:

Arteaga Construction, Inc. of Milwaukee, WI was awarded for their mastery of masonry on the Fernwood Montessori Addition also in Milwaukee, WI. This impressive addition was constructed utilized a combination of clay and concrete masonry, including Splitface Masonry Units, Premier Ultra® Burnished Masonry Units, and Acoustical Masonry Units, all manufactured by County Materials. 

The Wisconsin Masonry Alliance is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of masonry construction through the dissemination of technology, practice, products, and design. The Excellence in Masonry Awards recognizes masonry projects exemplifying great design, inspiring material usage, and quality construction. Project winners were recognized at the Annual Excellence in Masonry Awards Breakfast in conjunction with the AIA Convention at the Monona Terrace in Madison, WI.
