County Materials Educates Southwest Florida Water Management Engineers on Advantages of Concrete Pipe
Six engineers from the Southwest Florida Water Management District recently participated in a pipe plant tour and learned why specifying concrete pipe is critical to build safe, long-lasting and cost-effective storm water management infrastructure in local communities.
County Materials hosted the tour at the company’s manufacturing facility in Astatula, Florida. Engineers from the Southwest Florida Water Management District gained valuable industry education about why concrete pipe is the preferred material for storm water management and saw first-hand the rigorous quality control and testing methods that concrete pipe undergoes.
The Southwest Florida Water Management District is one of five regional agencies directed by Florida state law to protect and preserve water resources. Since being established in 1961, the water management agency’s responsibilities have grown to include managing water supplies, protecting water quality and flood protection.
