County Materials partners with Can Play to make sports accessible for young people in Central Iowa who face financial, physical, cognitive, emotional, or chronic health care barriers. The organization’s recreational programs are adapted for children of all abilities and are of no cost to the participants. Serving approximately 15,000 individuals each year, Can Play seeks to include all people in recreational activities that inspire and empower.
Can Play uses funds donated by County Materials to purchase new equipment and train new locations for programming. We are proud to partner with the organization and support the work they do in our local communities. Their adapted sports programs allow children to gain confidence and social skills while exploring their abilities and interests.
County Materials partners with Can Play Sports through the Sonnentag American Foundation. The Foundation aligns support with four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Members & Veterans Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
