What is a MULE?
A MULE (Material Unit Lift-Enhancer) is a lift-assist device used to handle and lift heavy materials on construction sites. Professional masons utilize MULE technology to maximize productivity gains and maneuver weighty materials with increased safety. The equipment also reduces fatigue and injuries in a physically demanding industry. It can be set up in just ten minutes and mounted to a structure’s scaffolding or to mast climbing platforms. MULEs also come with a variety of attachments and can be customized according to building environments.
The MULE Method
MULE smart lifting equipment is capable of lifting oversized construction materials, including County Materials’ Oversized 32” Concrete Masonry Unit. When utilized together, MULE technology and our oversized units are referred to as the MULE Method and can double the square footage and productivity of a project. The MULE Method is often preferred as a solution for labor shortages, safety concerns, and short project timelines.
This technology has the potential to reduce labor shortages and bring more people into masonry. It offers safety and wellness advantages and may reduce workmen’s comp claims. Masonry contractors who rent a MULE are responsible for the use, maintenance, and operation of the equipment and to keep it in good operating condition.
