Senator Chuck Grassley Tours County Materials’ Iowa City Pipe Facility
U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) toured County Materials Iowa City pipe facility on April 22.
During the visit, Grassley saw firsthand how County Materials manufactures concrete pipe that is inherently stronger than other materials, making it a more reliable choice for infrastructure projects. Unlike, polypropylene pipe, reinforced concrete pipe is rigid and provides a structure and conduit.
Grassley spoke with County Materials’ team members after the tour about local infrastructure and jobs in manufacturing. Lunch was sponsored by Hamilton Kent and Insteel Wire Products. “Concrete” t-shirts sponsored by Anfinitas were presented to Grassley and everyone who attended.
County Materials hosts plant tours for public leaders, industry professionals, and students to educate them about the impact of local manufacturing and how County Materials’ products are used to build growing communities.
County Materials manufactures a complete line of reinforced concrete pipe and related precast products for storm water management systems.
