Ketchum’s Got Your Six | Madison, WI
Ketchum’s Got Your Six, the non-profit organization sponsoring Ketchum’s Ride, does fundraising to assist veterans with training of service dogs for those in need. Ketchum’s Ride is a bicycle ride benefitting Wisconsin veterans suffering from PTSD, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, in honor of the late Sergeant Ketchum. The 22-mile ride on the beautiful 400 State Trail is bringing people together to recognize our veterans, raise funds and create awareness.
Sergeant Brandon Ketchum was a veteran of the Marines and Army National Guard who suffered from PTSD. Unfortunately, he was unable to overcome the disease and eventually took his own life. Brandon was a Wisconsin Dells High School graduate.
Said Kristine Arsenault, President of Ketchum’s Got Your Six, “My passion for our veterans is overwhelming at times. I feel their pain to the core. I want to do everything in my power to help and that’s how Ketchum’s Got Your Six evolved. I feel that my passion for the veterans may help save a life. We’re here to raise awareness to the 20-22 suicides that are committed daily by our veterans and to raise funds to help make a difference.”
Ketchum’s Got Your Six receives funding from County Materials’ annual charity golf outing. To demonstrate the company’s Vision of Success, Stability and Support, County Materials is contributing to military personnel and veteran support services in communities where the company has locations.
-Terry, a U.S. Army veteran was paired with his Custom Canines service dog, Roscoe. Roscoe serves as Terry’s PTS service dog and is giving him independence and freedom to leave his home, continue his schooling and work independently outside of his living environment.
-Jacob, a Marine Corps veteran has been paired with Custom Canines service dog, Stitches. Stitches will serve as Jacob’s PTS and mobility service dog. They are just starting their placement training together.
-Linda, a U.S. Air Force veteran has enrolled in the Owner Training academy with her canine hero in training, Baldur. Linda is just starting her service dog training thanks to the generosity of the Sonnentag Foundation.
