For decades, reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) has proved vital in managing stormwater and waste in a sustainable manner that enhances community safety and wellbeing. Public works agencies and DOTs have relied on RCP to serve the vital purpose of protecting our roadways from washouts and flooding. The inherent durability of RCP is demonstrated by its extended lifecycle that exceeds those of alternative solutions.
The American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA) is recognizing August 16 – 22 as Concrete Pipe Week. During this industry-wide recognition and education initiative, RCP manufacturers promote and support the concrete pipe industry by hosting educational tours and providing related resources. Industry leaders also engage with federal, state, and local governments to continually bring awareness about the importance of RCP in reliable infrastructure.
Each year, numerous state governors and secretaries of state sign proclamations recognizing the third week of August as Concrete Pipe Week because they understand the value RCP and precast products contribute toward public health and safety initiatives in their states.
